New Music: "Almost Certainly"
“Almost Certainly” is the latest single from my upcoming “Dreadline” EP. This laid back yet uplifting chill-hop beat was inspired by nervous optimism, part of the rollercoaster of emotions that come with immigration.
I set out to create this EP with some self-imposed restrictions: Write and arrange using only the MPC One sampler and stock instruments, chop up drum breaks as my beats (something I’ve never really done), use my old tape recorder for noise and field recordings and finally, use my Pocket Piano for FX.
The track is driven by a chopped up boom bap drum break, interwoven with piano arpeggios, various harp melodies, a nostalgic choir and beautiful brass to create a hopeful nostalgic vibe.
Listen to “Almost Certainly” on your streaming platform of choice or buy it on Bandcamp.
